Project Management & Services
Conception
I believe in having a clear vision and understanding of options before starting out on any project and the end of a project should be clean, leaving a satisfied client living in their happy place. Putting together an ideas or vision board is something I can help facilitate. A vision board provides direction for a project while also serving as a focal point for its conclusion. It might already be in place before I come in on a project, but if not it is something I would recommend. This post highlights how valuable one was for a kitchen renovation
I can also help with visual aids that show how a space would look before decisions are made, working with photoshop type programs and 3D software to produce simple but effective mock ups. Examples can be found on the Installations page.
Communications
I believe in strong, clear and consistent communication. I have 30+ years of experience collaborating with architects, contractors, interior designers and sub-contractors and can provide references for each affirming the benefits of having me involved in a project. I can be particularly useful in capturing details and communicating progress with site visits and photography.
Problem solving
Knowing what it takes to get a project to the finish line is something I have vast experience in. I maintain forward momentum of a project (avoiding any unnecessary changes or backsliding) by coming up with creative workarounds and substitutions.
Organization
(Larger projects)
The first step would be to recognize any existing professionals or trades already contracted and identify how I can help/where I would fit in.
Then, if needed, I can:
- Help to find, schedule and/or coordinate subcontractors
- Assist with the sourcing of materials, fixtures and fittings.
- Coordinate the supply of materials in order to facilitate the smooth flow of a project.
- Act as point of contact to record the communication and authorization of any necessary or desired changes along the way.
- Systematizing – I use Google Drive, Trello, Jobsite Codes (QR) and other programs but can pick up and adapt quickly to what others might be using
- Make sure the work area is kept clean – identifying any unsafe or unclean practices.
